SAINT LEO, Fla. – On Monday, April 13, the Saint Leo University athletic department named student-athletes Sophia Wood (women's lacrosse) and Ryan Crivello (baseball) as the Jimmy John's Lions of the Week. The award is recognizing these student-athletes for their performances from April 6-13.

Sophia Wood led then-#10 Saint Leo to a 2-0 week with two top-ten road wins, highlighted by the highest-ranked victory in program history, totaling 10 points on seven goals and three assists, including what proved to be the game-winning goal in both games. In a win at #6 Tampa, Wood delivered a game-high six points with five goals and an assist, including the game-winner, while going a perfect 3-for-3 on free-position attempts. She followed with a four-point performance in a comeback victory at #4 Embry-Riddle, scoring two goals with two assists and adding five draw controls to help fuel a seven-goal run that turned an 11-7 deficit into a 14-12 win. Across the week, Wood averaged 5.0 points per game, shot 58.3 percent from the field, placed 66.7 percent of her shots on goal, and added six draw controls, leading the Lions against top-five competition.

Crivello helped guide the Lions to a 4-1 record this week as he hit a staggering .529 from the dish. He went 9-for-17 with three doubles, two RBI, and three walks. The Florida native also went 2-for-2 on stole base attempts. He produced a .706 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage. 
 

For the 2025–26 season, Saint Leo University Athletics is proud to partner with Jimmy John's to present a new weekly award recognizing student-athletes. The award will recognize athletic competition held from Monday to Sunday.
