SAINT LEO, Fla. – On Monday, January 12, the Saint Leo University athletic department named basketball student-athletes Olivia Agunzo (women's basketball) and Dominic Commisso (men's basketball) have earned the first Jimmy John's Lions of the Week honors for 2026. The award is recognizing these student-athletes for their performances for games played from December 31-January 4 as announced on Monday.

Junior Olivia Agunzo scored 19 points at Tampa, as she made seven three-pointers to set a new career best. The New York native also added seven assists, her second most in a game in her career. To close out the week at Palm Beach Atlantic, Agunzo once again led the team in assists with five to go along with 14 points. She recorded her first block of the season, and led the team in steals with two against the host Sailfish as well. 

Sophomore forward Dominic Commisso averaged 11.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.0 assists per game this past week for the Lions. On Wednesday at Tampa, the 6-8 Illinois native grabbed seven boards and denied a season-high three shot attempts in addition to scoring six points in 19 minutes of action. On Saturday at No. 8 Palm Beach Atlantic, he posted 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with six rebounds and one assist. 

For the 2025–26 season, Saint Leo University Athletics is proud to partner with Jimmy John's to present a new weekly award recognizing student-athletes. The award will recognize athletic competition held from Monday to Sunday.

In 2019, Jimmy John's became part of Inspire Brands, the restaurant group that also owns Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts, and more.
