SAINT LEO, Fla. – On Monday, January 26, the Saint Leo University athletic department named student-athletes Olivia Agunzo (women's basketball) and Jordan So (men's track) as the Jimmy John's Lions of the Week. The award is recognizing these student-athletes for their performances for games played from January 19-25.

Junior Olivia Agunzo set a career-high in points, made 3-pointers, and steals against Rollins on Saturday. The New York native scored 23 points, on seven made 3-pointers, adding four steals on the defense end. In a mid-week match up against nationally ranked, Nova Southeastern, Agunzo recorded a career high seven rebounds as she hit triple digits for recording her 100th career 3-pointer this week. 

In his collegiate debut, freshman Jordan So placed seventh in a field of 70 runners in the 200m with a time of 22.10. So also placed fifth in the 300m, running a mark of 34,97. The south Florida native also split a 51.55 400 in the 4x400m relay that placed ninth overall. 

For the 2025–26 season, Saint Leo University Athletics is proud to partner with Jimmy John's to present a new weekly award recognizing student-athletes. The award will recognize athletic competition held from Monday to Sunday. 

Since launching in 1983 in Charleston, Illinois, with just a $25,000 loan from his father, Jimmy John Liautaud built his modest sandwich shop into the national chain known for its "Freaky Fast" delivery and fresh-baked bread. Over the years, the brand expanded rapidly, surpassing 2,600 locations nationwide by 2025 and even venturing internationally with openings in Seoul, Toronto, and Dubai. In 2019, Jimmy John's became part of Inspire Brands, the restaurant group that also owns Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts, and more.
