SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo Athletics Department has announced the selections of Mia Moser (volleyball) and Rodolfo Iguala (men's soccer) as the latest Jimmy John's Lions of the Week honorees.
Moser anchored the Lions defense across three matches this week, totaling 34 digs over 11 sets played. Her performance was highlighted by a season-best 26 digs in the five-set match against Florida Tech, one of the top single-match totals in the Sunshine State Conference this year.
Iguala wasted no time getting the Lions off on the right foot as a spot in the SSC Tournament was on the line at Tampa on Saturday. The Panamanian freshman scored the lone goal of the match just 39 seconds in for his first collegiate game-winner and only the second goal of his career. He led the Lions with four total shots, including two on target, finishing the week with a .200 shooting percentage across two starts. Iguala's early strike highlighted an efficient offensive outing that helped Saint Leo outshoot the Spartans 15–7 and punch their postseason ticket.
For the 2025–26 season, Saint Leo University Athletics is proud to partner with Jimmy John's to present a new weekly award recognizing student-athletes. The award will recognize athletic competition held from Monday to Sunday.
Since launching in 1983 in Charleston, Illinois, with just a $25,000 loan from his father, Jimmy John Liautaud built his modest sandwich shop into the national chain known for its "Freaky Fast" delivery and fresh-baked bread. Over the years, the brand expanded rapidly, surpassing 2,600 locations nationwide by 2025 and even venturing internationally with openings in Seoul, Toronto, and Dubai. In 2019, Jimmy John's became part of Inspire Brands, the restaurant group that also owns Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts, and more.
