SAINT LEO, Fla. – For the final time in 2025, the Saint Leo University Athletics Department has announced its Jimmy John's Lions of the Week honors. Following games played from December 15-21, basketball student-athletes Olivia Agunzo (women's basketball) and Donovan Hill (men's basketball) were announced as the latest recipients as on Monday.
Junior Olivia Agunzo set career highs in 3 pointers (5) and steals (2) in Thursday's 99-67 win over Florida National. The New York native shot 5-for-7 from distance, helping the Lions connect on their most 3 pointers as a team so far this season with 11. Agunzo leads the team in 3 point shooting with 14 makes, 41 attempts, and with a .341 shooting percentage from beyond the arc.
This past week, Hill etched his named into the Saint Leo history books as he became just the second player in program history to record a triple-double. In the final game of the Palm Beach Atlantic Christmas Tournament, Hill used a combination of double digit totals in points (13), rebounds (11), and assists (10) to achieve the feat for the first time in his career as Saint Leo cruised to a 19-point win over American International. In Thursday's game against South Florida Bible College, Hill dropped 22 points (his fifth 20+ point performance of the season) on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and connecting on a trio of his three-point attempts. Additionally, he grabbed eight boards, dished out six assists, and recorded four steals. For the week, Hill averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 3.5 steal to lead the Lions to a perfect week at PBA Christmas Tournament.
For the 2025–26 season, Saint Leo University Athletics is proud to partner with Jimmy John's to present a new weekly award recognizing student-athletes. The award will recognize athletic competition held from Monday to Sunday.
Since launching in 1983 in Charleston, Illinois, with just a $25,000 loan from his father, Jimmy John Liautaud built his modest sandwich shop into the national chain known for its "Freaky Fast" delivery and fresh-baked bread. Over the years, the brand expanded rapidly, surpassing 2,600 locations nationwide by 2025 and even venturing internationally with openings in Seoul, Toronto, and Dubai. In 2019, Jimmy John's became part of Inspire Brands, the restaurant group that also owns Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts, and more.
