SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Athletics Department has named Zoe O'Leary (women's basketball) and Jayden Johnson (men's basketball) as the latest Jimmy John's Lions of the Week recipients as announced on Monday.

Freshman Zoe O'Leary delivered a dominant all-around performance, pouring in a career-high 24 points while pulling down a career-best 16 rebounds in Saint Leo's 47-point victory over Trinity College. The freshman was a force on both ends of the floor, swatting away a career-high five shots while also adding a steal, showcasing her impact defensively as well as offensively. O'Leary scored at an exceptional pace, producing more than a point per minute on the court, as she set new personal bests in points, rebounds, and blocks in one of the most complete performances of her young collegiate career.

This past week, Johnson posted five points, three steals, and a career-high six boards on Tuesday at West Florida in 10 minutes of action. On Wednesday, in an exhibition at Florida Atlantic, the Netherlands native tallied a career-best eight points in addition to grabbing five rebounds as he earned his first career start.

For the 2025–26 season, Saint Leo University Athletics is proud to partner with Jimmy John's to present a new weekly award recognizing student-athletes. The award will recognize athletic competition held from Monday to Sunday. 

Since launching in 1983 in Charleston, Illinois, with just a $25,000 loan from his father, Jimmy John Liautaud built his modest sandwich shop into the national chain known for its "Freaky Fast" delivery and fresh-baked bread. Over the years, the brand expanded rapidly, surpassing 2,600 locations nationwide by 2025 and even venturing internationally with openings in Seoul, Toronto, and Dubai. In 2019, Jimmy John's became part of Inspire Brands, the restaurant group that also owns Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts, and more.
