SAINT LEO, Fla. – On Monday, March 30, the Saint Leo University athletic department named student-athletes Holly Hill (women's lacrosse) and Flynn Howard (baseball) as the Jimmy John's Lions of the Week. The award is recognizing these student-athletes for their performances from March 23-29.

Holly Hill delivered a historic week for then-#11 Saint Leo, highlighted by a record-breaking performance in a ranked road win at #14 Rollins. Hill tied the SSC single-game record with 13 points while setting Saint Leo program records with nine assists and 13 points, adding four goals and contributing to 13 of the Lions' 22 scores. Across two games, Hill totaled 17 points on six goals and 11 assists, averaging 8.5 points and 5.5 assists per game while shooting .600 with a .700 shot-on-goal percentage. She also recorded a game-winning goal and two free-position scores, powering one of the top offensive weeks in program history. Hill currently leads the NCAA, SSC, and Saint Leo with 43 assists and ranks second in Division II with 70 points.

Flynn Howard delivered a complete-game performance to lead the baseball team to a key Sunshine State Conference series opening victory at Florida Tech on Friday. Howard went the distance in a nine-inning effort, improving to 5-2 on the season while allowing just two earned runs on eight hits. He struck out six and walked only two across 107 pitches. Howard leads the team in ERA (1.91), wins (5), innings pitched (61.1), and strikeouts (60). 

 

For the 2025–26 season, Saint Leo University Athletics is proud to partner with Jimmy John's to present a new weekly award recognizing student-athletes. The award will recognize athletic competition held from Monday to Sunday.

In 2019, Jimmy John's became part of Inspire Brands, the restaurant group that also owns Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts, and more.
