  • Was third baseman/left fielder for baseball team at Saint Leo
  • Led team in hitting with .399 average as freshman (1979), playing third base and left field, was first in hits (69) and first in runs batted in (48), was second in doubles (12) and led infielders in fielding percentage with only three errors in 130 chances
  • Hit .275 in sophomore season as starting left fielder
  • Hit .336 as a junior, was fourth on team in hitting, third in runs (33), second in hits (64), second in runs batted in (36), third in doubles (11), third in stolen bases (12), was team co-captain and starting third baseman
  • Hit .298 as a senior (1982), led team in doubles (15), was second in runs scored (40), second in hits (54), third in runs batted in (27), and third in hitting on team, was team co-captain and starting third baseman
  • Finished with a .336 career batting average at Saint Leo
  • Stands sixth in career doubles at Saint Leo with 38
  • Made All-Sunshine State Conference as a senior

  • Currently director of school business services for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, the state education agency that oversees the current 115 school systems and 99 charter schools across the state with a K-12 education population of 1.4 million students. His department oversees the allocation and reporting of over $7.5 billion in state and federal funds disbursed by the state for educational services. He also is in charge of making presentations to other state agencies, private industry and the legislative body of the North Carolina General Assembly.
