  • Was one of the elite four-sport performers during the 1940s
  • Was quarterback on football team for two years
  • Played basketball for two years
  • Was center fielder on baseball team for two years
  • Was a low hurdler and high hurdler for two years on the track team where he set the state record for high hurdles
  • He helped lead the basketball team, football team, football team, and track team to Catholic State Champions his senior year in 1947
  • Was selected to the All-State Catholic Basketball Team in 1946 and 1947
  • Sang in the chapel choir and was an altar server
  • Graduated from the University of Florida in 1952
  • Served our country in the United States Air Force From 1952-73 and retired as a Lt. Colonel
  • Coached the basketball team at Craig Air Force Base and refereed high school football and basketball games during the time he was stationed in Alabama
  • Following retirement from the service, he was Special Agent for Criminal Investigations in the Inspector General's Office, retiring as a Division Chief in 1986
  • Served 10 years as a Security Consultant to the United States Information Agency
  • Has six children, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren
