DAVIE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Men's golf team had a rocky Round One to start the NCAA Regional tournament Thursday, placing 19th of 20 with a team round score of 294 (+10) at Grande Oaks Golf Club.
Junior
Alex Heck led the Lions on opening day, tying for 38th overall shooting par (71). While tied for 60th, Junior
Jake Nash finished the day leading all golfers with 17 pars.
Palm Beach Atlantic's Andrew Riley shocked the region with a strong start, shooting nine under (62) to lead all golfers in the tournament. Shorter is the South Region leader after Day One with a round score of 272.

The Green & Gold will look to bounce back in Round 2 Friday, teeing off in a threesome with Barton College and Lincoln Memorial. Tee time for the Lions' first group is scheduled for 10 a.m.
