SAINT LEO, Fla. – While most people are enjoying time off for the holidays, two golfers from the Saint Leo University Men's team are competing at some of the premiere, amateur tournaments around the nation.
Junior
Jake Nash is a participant in the annual Orlando International Amateur, a tournament featuring some of the top collegiate golfers and golfers ranked in the top 300 around the world. Wednesday marked the opening day of OIA, as the Sarasota, Fla. native finished Round 1 as the current leader of 180 players with a score of 67, -5. Nash's opening performance included six birdies and an eagle.
Junior
Adrian Soriano is competing at the Grapevine Amateur at the Silverado North Golf Course in Napa, Calif that also began Wednesday. The Bonita, Calif. native ended the first round tied for sixth overall with a score of 70, -2, just two strokes away from the current leader in the tournament. Soriano picked up three birdies in Round One.
