NINETY SIX, S.C. – The 23rd-ranked Saint Leo men's golf team delivered a strong start to the Patriot Fall Classic, hosted by Lander, finishing the opening round in third place after carding a 286 (-2) at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor.
The Lions were led by junior
Micke Laurelli, who fired a 2-under 70, sitting tied for eighth place in the individual standings. Freshman
Benjamin Morland followed closely behind with a 71 (-1), placing him tied for 14th. Senior
Enzo Barbaglia posted an even-par 72 (E) to sit tied for 22nd, while sophomore
Ethan Keys added a solid 73 (+1) to tie for 35th. Junior
Nicklas Illi rounded out the Lions' scoring with a 74 (+2), tied for 42nd.
Competing as an individual, senior
Mathieu Lafontaine shot a 79 (+7) to sit tied for 95th overall.
The Lions will conclude the Patriot Fall Classic tomorrow with the continuation of the second round followed by the third round starting at 8:45 a.m.
