PALM HARBOR, Fla. – The 24th-ranked Saint Leo men's golf team is in eighth place after the first day of the Copperhead Championship, hosted by West Florida, at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club on Monday.
The Lions registered a first day score of 583 (+15) with a 300 in the first round followed by a 283 in the second round.
Senior
Enzo Barbaglia leads the Saint Leo lineup as he is tied for seventh with a 141 (one-under). He highlighted the day in the second round by carding five birdies. Freshman
Benjamin Morland sits in a share of 41st with a 147 (five-over) while junior
Nicklas Illi is tied for 46th. In the second round, Illi posted five birdies. Sophomore
Ethan Keys boasted scores of 77 and 72, respectively as is in 48th place.
Rounding out the Lions lineup is junior
Micke Laurelli, who recorded a 156 (14-over) during the first day with a 75 in the first and 81 in the second round.
Competing as an individual was sophomore
Tommy Tyler and he registered an 85 in the opening round followed by a 78 in the second.
The Lions will conclude the Copperhead Championship tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.
