PALM HARBOR, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Men's golf team began Day 2 of the Copperhead Championship in the middle of the pack landed in the middle of the pack after two rounds at the Copperhead Championship before scoring its way up to a share of fourth place with an overall score of 871, +19 (293, 287, 291) Tuesday at Innisbrook Resort.
Sophomore
Carl Hellat led the way for the Lions, tying for eighth individually with a score 214, +1 (71/69/74). Sophomore
Alex Heck began shooting 74 in the opening round before rebounding with round scores of 72 and 70, respectively, to climb up to a share of 13th place.
Heck, along with fellow Sophomore
Francois Cilliers, were two of the top five players with the most pars in the tournament, respectively tallying 41 and 40.
