SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Women's golf team stumbled out of the gate Monday, shooting 302, +23 in the opening round before the second round was temporarily suspended due to lack of light after a 45-minute weather delay in the afternoon.
 
Graduate Elena Verticchio shot over three strokes to conclude the first round before rebounding with an under one stroke performance to finish the night.
 
Sophomore Laurence Lamer held the Lions' best Round One score, shooting 72, E.
 
Saint Leo will resume action at 9 a.m. Tuesday, concluding Round Two before heading straight into the final round.
