LONGWOOD, Fla. – The 22nd-ranked Saint Leo women's golf team finished tied for fourth in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, hosted by Rollins, as the Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes on Tuesday afternoon following the final round. The Lions were led by freshman
McKenzee Sullivan, who placed second in the player leaderboard
after she carded a 73 (+1) in the first round on Monday followed by another 73 (+1) on Tuesday during the final round.
The Lions lineup also featured redshirt senior
Maya Cote, who finished the two-tournament in a share of 21st following scores of 75 (+3) and 79 (+7). Freshman
Maria Jaime and sophomore
Iza Stahlevi tied for 35th with a 159 (+15). Jaime posted a 79 (+7) followed by an 80 (+8) while Stahlevi recorded a 73 (+1) before firing an 86 (+14) on Tuesday.
Rounding out the Green & Gold lineup was senior
Ana Valentina-Guarderas, who registered a 166 (+22) with an 86 (+14) and an 80 (+8).
Competing as individuals for the Lions were sophomore
Sophia Raab, junior
Carmen Phousirith, and freshman
Catherine Mulvaney. Raab placed 35th with a 159 (+15) while Phousirith tied for 43rd with a 164 (+20). Mulvaney finished in 46th-place as she carded a 166 (+22).
Saint Leo returns to the links on Monday, March 23 as it competes in the opening day of the Bentwater Women's Collegiate, hosted by Kennesaw State, at the Bentwater Golf Club, tee time is slated for 8 a.m.
