SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association named
Bruno Faletto of the Saint Leo men's tennis team the National Rookie of the Year on Tuesday. The freshman from Santiago, Chile recorded a 19-2 mark at first singles paired with a 13-12 doubles record while helping the Lions to a 16-10 season record. The honor follows his ITA South Region Rookie of the Year and Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year awards.
Faletto helped Saint Leo reach its highest team national ranking of fourth in the country. In individual rankings, he tallied a season-high singles ranking of ninth on April 24. Faletto notched victories over No. 3 Serdar Bojadjiev (West Florida), No. 12 Valetin Masse (Hawaii Pacific) and No. 13 Nico De Fraia (Rollins).
