SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its men's tennis regional awards this week featuring
Bruno Faletto of the Saint Leo Lions. The freshman from Santiago, Chile was named the 2019 ITA South Region Rookie of the Year. Faletto filled the Lions first singles flight and second doubles flight in the Green and Gold's 16-10 season, advancing to the first round of NCAA Division II South Regional II.
Faletto earned a 19-3 record in first singles defeating four nationally-ranked players. He closed his freshman campaign ranked 12
th in the ITA national poll with a 22.40 season average.
In doubles, Faletto paired up with
Ghali Mensour for a 12-7 second flight record. Overall, Faletto tallied a 12-8 season record at second along with a 1-4 mark in the first doubles flight.
