LAKELAND, Fla. – Kayne Trustfull, David Perez, Athanasios Bilis, Leo Vega, and Lahcen Boujadi represented the Saint Leo men's tennis team at the Youth Tennis Foundation (YTF) Intercollegiate Championships this past weekend. The three-day event held numerous successful performances by the Green and Gold topped by Trustfull's singles championship alongside of his and Perez's doubles title.
 
In doubles action, Perez and Trustfull teamed up to swiftly snatch the doubles title. The dynamic duo defeated Webber International's Hugo Hasegawa and Ivan Bondarenko (8-3). Bilis and Vega notched a doubles semifinal appearance before dropping an 8-5 decision to Hasegawa and Bondarenko.  
 
Trustfull brought home the singles play hardware after defeating teammate Athanasios Bilis in the finals (6-4, 6-3). To reach the final round, Trustfull recorded a three-set victory (3-6, 6-4, 10-6) over first-seed Bruno Pessoa, the NAIA ITA South Regional Champion from Warner University. In addition to Trustfull and Bilis' big days, Perez earned a semifinalist appearance as three-of-four semifinalists were Lions.
 
Meanwhile, Leo Vega won the consolation singles draw, defeating Matthew Alexander of Webber International (8-1).

The YTF tournament marked the last fall tournament for the Lions. The Green and Gold open the 2020 regular season on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. hosting Ave Maria.
