SAINT LEO, Fla. – The no. 7 Saint Leo men's tennis team upended non-conference opponent, Southern Indiana, 9-0 on Monday at the Saint Leo Tennis Center. The win raises the Lions' overall record to 4-0.
Thomas Grinberg and
Vincent Suillerot took no. 1 doubles 8-6 followed by
Jaime Bueno and
Willem Van Den Akker's 8-2 no. 2 doubles win.
Bruno Babic and
James Defusto won no. 3 doubles 8-6.
In singles play, no. 1 Grinberg posted a 6-1, 6-0 win while no. 2 Suillerot showcased a perfect 6-0, 6-0 finish. Bueno clinched a no. 3 6-1, 7-5 win followed by no. 5
Francisco Aparicio who turned in a 6-1, 6-0 decision.
Willem Van Den Akker cleaned up no. 6 singles earning a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
The Lions return to the Saint Leo Tennis Center in less than 24 hours to host Hillsdale on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
