Boca Raton, Fla. – The No. 4 Saint Leo men's tennis team bested No. 5 Lynn 7-2 on Saturday. The Sunshine State Conference Intercollegiate Tennis Association top five showdown was nailed down by No. 37 Jamie Bueno's no. 3 singles 6-4, 6-1 decision. The Lions' overall record improves to 15-0, 4-0 in the SSC as the conference leader.
"This was a great win for our guys today," said head coach
Chad Berryhill. "It was good to get the lead early, 2-1, after doubles. Our guys continued to battle in order to pull out the 'W' today. I am very proud of our team's effort all weekend."
Saint Leo took two doubles matches at no. 1 and no. 2. Lynn took no. 3, 8-3, taking the first allotted team match point of the day. No. 41, no. 2 partners,

Willem Van Den Akker sealed an 8-3 win. No. 9 duo at no. 1,
Thomas Grinberg and
Vincent Suillerot closed doubles play, unyielding an 8-6 final.

Thomas Grinberg swiftly defended his top national ranking defeating No. 5 Jean-Baptiste Mateo; 6-1, 6-3. Like clockwork, no. 2 singles finished second. No. 31
Vincent Suillerot outlasted No. 51 Kay Bartmann; 7-5, 6-1.

Jaime Bueno brought in the Lions' fifth match point at no. 3 singles to secure the win; 6-3, 6-1.

Bruno Babic (6-2, 6-2) and no. 6
Willem Van Den Akker (6-3, 6-4) added wins to the Lions tab to close out the match.
Saint Leo returns home to host No. 40 Rollins on Wednesday, April 4 at 3:00 p.m. at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
