PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No.7 Saint Leo men's tennis team upset No.1 West Florida 5-4 on Saturday. Saint Leo put an end to West Florida's 20 consecutive home victories. The nationally ranked win extended the Lions' perfect season to 9-0, while the Argonauts overall record dropped to 10-2.
"Today was a battle lplaying the defending National Champions on their home courts," said head coach
Chad Berryhill. "We knew doubles would be key; going down 1-2 was less than ideal. However, I am very proud on how hard our guys played in singles, specifically, the energy we played with. It was a fun match to be a part of."
Jaime Bueno and
Willem Van Den Akker are 8-0 in doubles play together; no.2 7-0, no.3 1-0. The duo earned the Lions' lone doubles match at no.2; 8-2.

Thomas Grinberg defeated No.7 Serdar Bojadjiev in no. 1 singles; 6-4, 6-4. The no.1 first singles victory moves Grinberg's season record to 9-0.

Vincent Suillerot downed No.40 Nicolas Lecoutre 6-3, 6-4 in no.2 singles.
Jaime Bueno grabbed a no.3 6-3, 7-5 win while no.4
Bruno Babic outplayed No.23 Alfonso Castellano in three sets; 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Saint Leo will close out their time at the West Florida Tournament on Sunday, March 18 against Georgia College. The match start is set at 9:30 a.m.
