MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's swimming team defeated Florida Tech, 139-120 on Saturday to close out the 2018 regular season. The Lions will enter the Sunshine State Conference Championships with a 5-1 overall record.
The 400 Yard Medley Relay team made up by
Milosz Mikicin,
Hunter Bains,
Georgios Veliadis and
Michael Southward earned first handing in a time of 3:27.09.
Mikicin, Bains and Veliadis continued the day placing first in their respectable events. Mikicin won the 100 Yard Backstroke (52.84), Bains topped competition in the 200 Yard Backstroke (1:53.82) and Veliadis took the 200 Yard Butterfly (1:51.58).
Matija Rafaj won the 1,000 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 9:34.42 and the 500 Yard Freestyle with a 4:37.94 mark. He went on to place second in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:42.20) behind teammate
Luka Vulic with a time of 1:41.83.
Christian Cioffi earned the top finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 45.73.
The Sunshine State Conference Championships held in Clearwater, Fla. will begin on Thursday, February 22.
