CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's and women's swimming teams competed in day two of the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Championships Thursday.
The session featured the 200 IM, 50 free, 1000 free, and 200 medley relay.
"They swam great tonight" said head coach
Michael Southward. "I'm really happy with how the individual swimmers and the relay swimmers swam tonight. It's still early and it's a long meet but that's what our team has trained for all year. I'm excited to see what the next couple of days brings for us."
Lucas Minuer had the top finish for the Lions this evening taking bronze in the 50 free with his time of 20.01.
Isabelle Sering had the best finish for the Saint Leo women, finishing top five with her time of 23.37.
Vanda Voroshazy touched the wall eighth in the 200 IM with her time of 2:05.20.
The quartet of
Romane Cayla, Alix Marouf-Henras, Voroshazy, and
Ethena Conzemius earned a top ten finish in the 200 medley relay for the Lions touching the wall sixth at 1:46.31.
Nino Viallon,
Gerardo Avila, Rommel Ferguson, and
Lamar Rodov earned seventh in the 200 medley relay with their time of 1:34.19.
