Six-time CSCAA All-American (800 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, 50 Free, 100 Free, 400 Med Relay (HM), 200 Free Relay (HM))… CSCAA Scholar All-America team honoree… Sunshine State Conference Second Team All-Conference… Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll ... 2018 D2ADA Academic Achievement Award Honoree ... took fourth at the NCAA Division II Championships in the 50 Free and seventh in the 100 Free… placed fifth in the 800 Free Relay, sixth in the 400 Free relay, 10th in the 400 Med Relay and 11th in the 200 Free Relay at the NCAA Division II Championships along with his teammates… set Saint Leo school record in the 400 Medley Relay at the NCAA Championships with teammates Clayton Howerton, Henrik Dahrendorff and George Veliadis in 3:14.91… set the school record in the 400 Free Relay at the NCAA Championships with teammates Michael Southward, Christian Cioffi and Luka Vulic in 2:57.06… placed second in 100 Free, fifth in the 200 Free, seventh in the 50 Free and eighth in the 100 Back at the SSC Championships… earned three top-five SSC finishes as part of relay teams… took second in the 200 Free Relay and 800 Free Relay and placed third in the 400 Free Relay at the SSC Championships.

Captured 2016 CSCAA All-America honors in the 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay, and the 800 Free Relay… set Saint Leo records in the 200 Medley Relay (1:29.62; Pawel Trenda, Evan Jacob, Matheus Assis, Hunter Bains), the 200 Free Relay (1:20.47; Matheus Assis, Evan Jacob, Pawel Trenda, Hunter Bains), and the 400 Free Relay (2:57.78; Pawel Trenda, Matheus Assis, Evan Jacob, Hunter Bains)… placed sixth in 200 Free at 2016 SSC Championship with a time of 1:39.10… 2016 SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Competed for Palmer Ridge High School for Coach Alan Arata… Finished second place at 5A state in the 50m and 100m… Competed for Woodmoor Waves Club Team for Coach Rob Bullendell.
PERSONAL
Born 11th August in Denver, CO… Forensics Science Major… Son of Pat and Chris Bains… Has one brother, Cade, and four sisters, Ava, Sophia, Bella, and Francesca… Lists swimming as her hobby… Career goals are to graduate and get a job in the field of forensics… Believes his loyalty and devotion to the team are his greatest assets… Lists Michael Phelps as his favorite athlete… Lists the Denver Broncos as his favorite team… Chose Saint Leo because of the criminal justice program, the athletics, and overall atmosphere… If he could have any superpower it would be the ability to breathe underwater… Favorite foods are steak and pasta… Enjoys all types of music except for screamo… If he won the lottery he would build a new pool for the swim team and then split the rest with his family.
