MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – While the Saint Leo University Women's golf team finished the first day with two rounds of play Monday at the Buccaneer Invitational with an overall score of 619 (319/300), +51, Sophomore
Cajsa Strandberg stepped up for the Lions to shoot 146 (76/70), +4, which was tied for sixth-best overall at Miami Shores Country Club.
The native of Ystad, Sweden sunk seven birdies on the day, a fourth-best in the invitational, while tying for fifth in scoring average (4.09) shooting two over on Par 4 courses. Strandberg trails 10 strokes behind Nova Southeastern's Ellen Andersson for the individual title.
Saint Leo's Round Two score of 300 was the round's fourth-best team score.
