SAINT LEO, Fla. – The 19th-ranked Saint Leo women's golf team placed fifth in the Saint Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club following the third round on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions were led by sophomore
Iza Stahlevi, who finished in eighth place with a score of 220 (+4). This tournament marks the consecutive time that Stahlevi has finished in the top-20. Senior
Ana Valentina-Guarderas registered a 221 (+5) to finish in a share of 10th. Valentina-Guarderas carded a 76 (+4) in the final round. Freshman
Maria Jaime posted a 227 (+11) to tie for 30th while fellow classmate
McKenzee Sullivan tied for 35th following scores of 77, 76, and 77.
Rounding out the lineup was redshirt senior
Maya Cote with a 238 (+22) to finish in 57th.
Competing as individuals were junior
Carmen Phousirith, sophomore
Sophia Raab, and freshman
Catherine Mulvaney. Phousirith placed 30th with a 227 (+11) while Raab tied for 43rd with a 233 (+17) and Mulvaney, who competed in her first collegiate tournament, placed 59th with a 247 (+31).
Anderson won the team trophy with a total score of 858 (-6) and boasted the individual crown with Olivia Hastings, who finished the two-day event with a 209 (-7).
The Lions return to the links next week as they compete in the D2 Elite Invitational, hosted by Anderson, in Toccoa, Georgia at the Currahee Club with a start time of 8 a.m.
