Perthen Places Ninth to Pace Women’s Golf at Barry Invite

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's golf team finished fifth at the Barry Invitational on Tuesday. The Lions finished round one tied for fifth, pulled out to fourth by the end of the day one and wrapped up the tournament fifth; 303-302-301 – 906 (+42).
 
Saint Leo beat out fellow Sunshine State Conference schools Florida Southern (907), Barry (943), Embry-Riddle (956), Palm Beach Atlantic (966), and Eckerd (970).
 
Pia Perthen topped the charts for the Lions tied in ninth place with a score of 224 (76-73-75). Two strokes back, was teammate Francesca Santoni in a 15th place draw with a final tally of 226 (76-75-75).
 
Synne Lauritzen closed the Barry Invitational in 28th place recording a 231 score handing in a score of 77 in all three rounds.
 
Laurence Lamer and Cajsa Strandberg, who was golfing as an individual, shared the 30th place slot at 232. Lamer went 74-84-74 while Strandberg registered 80-74-78.
 
Rose Morissette closed the tournament tied in 46th place shooting a 238 (83-77-78).

Saint Leo will wrap up the regular season on Monday, April 4 in Boca Raton, Fla. to compete in the Lynn Invitational. The two-day tournament will be held at the Boca Woods Country Club.
