SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its Oracle Division II Men's Rankings this week naming the Saint Leo Lions as one of the top five promising programs in the nation. The Lions jumped seven spots between the 2019 end-of-year rankings to claim the No. 5 spot in the 2020 preseason rankings.
One other fellow Sunshine State Conference team joined Saint Leo in the top-10, No. 1 Barry who received eight first place votes.
The Green and Gold wrapped up the 2019 season with a 16-10 overall record, going 5-3 in the Sunshine State Conference. Since then, members of the team have competed in their individual Fall season seeing action against conference programs and competing in the ITA Regional tournament and the Youth Tennis Foundation (YTF) Intercollegiate Championship.
The Lions are set to open the season at the Saint Leo Tennis Center on Sunday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. hosting the Saints of Flagler College.
