SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo head women's golf coach Lyndsey Bevill announced Friday that Rose Morissette has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Lions in Fall 2018.
This past summer, Morissette finished third at the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Preview at Waubeeka in Williamstown, Mass., after carding rounds of 80 and 77. She was selected to play for Team Quebec at the 2017 Canadian Women's Amateur Championship, after finishing fifth with a 54-hole score of 238 at the Quebec Women's Amateur Championship.
Morissette finished fourth at the Fairfield, Conn., sectional qualifier for the 69th Annual U.S. Girls' Junior Championship on June 27, 2017, carding a 79 and missing qualification by three strokes. She posted rounds of 79-80-75-82 to make the cut and finish 42nd overall in a field of 142 golfers at the 2017 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships, held July 26-31 at PGA National Resort's Champions Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.,
"I'm excited to have a Rose join the Saint Leo women's golf family," said Bevill. "She brings great skill that will help us continue to compete at a high level."
Morissette, from Laval, Quebec, Canada, earned All-Canadian honors at the 2016 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championships in Charlottetown, P.E.I., Canada. She took the individual bronze medal in the 2016 Quebec Student Sports Federation final standings, after carding a 74 in the opening round of the season's final event.
