SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo volleyball held steady in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association top 25 Coaches' Poll at No. 19, to remain in the top 25 for the sixth straight week. 

The Lions posted a 2-0 week with a 3-1 win at Eckerd on Oct. 4 before a 3-1 win at home over Lynn on Oct. 6. On the week, Ashley Quero led the attack with 20 kills (2.50 per set) just ahead of Annabella Arcari and Britt Sederholm's 18 kills apiece. Arcari finished with 18 kills on a .326 clip and 12 blocks. Seder holmd added 25 digs to her stat line for the two matches. Dallas Jasper finished the week with the overall highest hitting percentage, with more than 10 attempts, with a .394 percentage with 17 kills on 33 swings. Anna Garrett tallied 78 assists where Jenya Kruglova stood at 32 digs to lead the defense. 

On the season, Quero leads the team with 127 kills with Victoria Omoregie at 100. Garrett is the team leader in assists with 411 on 1,106 attempts as Kruglova is the lone player with over 100 digs, at 161. Arcari is the leading blocker with a team high 40 blocks, six solo and 34 assists. 
 
The Lions stayed at No. 19 in the latest AVCA top 25 poll holding even for the fifth and sixth weeks of action. This is the 22nd time all-time the Green and Gold have been ranked in the weekly top 25 polls. Saint Leo was ranked for three weeks in 2008, nine weeks in 2009 and four weeks in 2010 while they add five in 2016 already.

In the AVCA poll, the Lions were joined by Palm Beach Atlantic (14-0) at no. 4. The Sailfish have held steady at no. 4 for six weeks in the poll (moved from sixth in preseason poll to fourth in week one). 
 
The Lions host the Moccasins on Oct. 10 as part of a rescheduled match from Sept. 16. Saint Leo and Florida Southern are set to get underway at 7 p.m. inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
