SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team welcomed in the Tritons from Eckerd College for another Sunshine State Conference contest Saturday afternoon. The Lions struggled to get going early and the Tritons came away with a 3-0 victory.

The loss drops Saint Leo's record to 4-8 on the year and 0-2 in league play. The Tritons improved to 9-4 overall and 1-1 in the SSC.

Gina Stavile led the Lions on offense with six kills to go along with three digs and a block. Freshman
Shelby Toney added five kills along with a team-high six digs. Freshman setter
Jansen Warbritton dished out 12 assists and tied for the team-lead with six digs.

Hayden Nash led Eckerd with 11 kills while Jaelynn Tunley and Seiler Hruska chipped in nine and eight, respectively. Setter Grace Dumont dished out 31 assists while Sydney Williams led the backline with 15 digs.

The Tritons took the match in straight sets 25-9, 25-18, and 25-16.

The Lions will be back in action next Friday, Sept. 25 as they face their first road SSC contest of the year at Nova Southeastern.
