SAINT LEO, Fla. - Earlier this week, the Sunshine State Conference issued guidance that allows colleges and universities to use discretion in permitting fan attendance at home athletic events, as long as the attendance does not exceed 25-percent capacity. Saint Leo University has reviewed this new guidance and will allow Saint Leo student-athletes to bring up to two family members to home athletic games, up to a maximum of 25-percent capacity.
If the pass list exceeds the 25-percent capacity, individuals will be admitted on a first-come-first-serve basis. In order to attend the event, family members must be on the player pass list and provide a valid issued ID.
"We are excited to welcome back parents to our Saint Leo Athletic events. As promised, we first secured how to host contests for our student-athletes in a safe environment. Now that we know what the various bench areas and player challenges are at each venue, we are ready to add the parents back into the mix. We realize how important this is for both the student-athlete and their family," stated Francis X. Reidy, Saint Leo University Vice President and Director of Athletics.
Masks must be worn at all times during the sporting event, at both indoor and outdoor locations, and social distancing is required.
