LAKELAND, Fla. - No. 5/5 Saint Leo men's golf sits in the top half of the field after a 36-hole total of 608 (+32) Monday at the Matlock Invitational at Lone Palm Golf Course.
The Lions carded an opening-round 308 before shaving eight strokes for an even-300 round two for a two-round total of 608.
Francois Cilliers is leading all-Saint Leo players, playing as an individual sitting tied for seven at one-over 145. Cilliers carded an opening-round 76 before posting the lowest round of the day at 69 (-3).
Jake Nash is sitting in 10th place and the top-player in the starting five after back-to-back rounds of 74 for a two-round total of 148 (+4).
Alberto Castagnara and
Oliver Lilliedahl are in the top 40 players of the 78 player field, a stroke off of each other at 154 (+10) and 155 (+11), respectively. Castagnara is sitting tied for 29th and Lilliedahl tied for 33rd.
No. 2/3 West Florida stands as the clubhouse leader after 36-holes after carding a two-round even-par 576. The Argonauts' Elias Haavisto is the individual leader by a stroke at five-under 139.

Saint Leo University Athletics is keeping our student-athletes healthy and safe by following a number of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes having student-athletes tested or screened on a regular basis, traveling in smaller groups, holding competitions without fans in attendance, avoiding overnight trips, and wearing masks when not competing. These safety standards meet those set by the NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference President's Council. At Saint Leo University, the COVID-19 Incident Command Team also reviews the teams' safety protocol and monitors adherence on a regular basis.
