MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – The 18th-ranked Saint Leo men's golf team placed second in the Battle at the Lakes, hosted by Barry, at the Miami Lakes Golf Club in Tuesday afternoon. The Lions posted a 285 in the final round that brought the team's overall score to an 855 (-9).

The Green & Gold were led by junior Maximilian Morgenstern, who finished in third with a 208 (-8). He posted an impressive 67 (his second 67 of the tournament) that featured eight birdies in the third round. Senior Enzo Barbaglia placed seventh after carding a 73 (+1) in the final round. Barbaglia posted a 212 for an overall score.

Freshman Benjamin Morland tied for 24th with a 218 (+2). During Tuesday's round, Morland recorded a 70 that was highlighted by back-to-back birdies on hole two and three. Junior Nicklas Illi fired a 219 (+3) as he finished in a share of 26th.

Rounding out the lineup was sophomore Micke Laurelli, who tied for 57th with a 227 (+11). Senior Ryan Letterly placed eighth as an individual following an overall score of 213 (-3) that was capped off by a 71 in the third.

 Saint Leo will next compete in the first day of Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championship Tournament, hosted by Saint Leo, at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club on Monday, April 20 with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
