FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The 19th-ranked Saint Leo men's golf team finished in fifth following the final round of the Shark Invitational, hosted by Nova Southeastern at the Grande Oaks Golf Course. The Lions carded an overall score of 845 (-7) in the two-day event.
The Green & Gold were led by junior
Maximilian Morgenstern, who posted score of 75, 69, and 68. He finished in a share of 16th. Senior
Enzo Barbaglia registered another top-20 finished as he placed 19th with a 213 (even). Barbaglia fired a 70 and 71 in Monday's rounds and concluded the tournament with a 72 on Tuesday.
Freshman Banjamin Morland tied for 20th with a 214 (+1) as he notched a 75, 68, and 71. Junior
Micke Laurelli recorded a 215 (+2) that was highlighted by a 71 in the first round and a 71 in the final round to tie for 26th. Rounding out the Lions lineup was junior
Nicklas Illi, who tied for 38th with a 217 (+4). Illi posted scores of 69, 79, and 69.
Senior
Ryan Letterly, who competed as an individual, finished in a share of 26th place with a 215 (+2).
The Lions will next compete in the Battle at the Shores, hosted by Barry at Normandy Shores with a tee time at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 30.
