SAINT LEO, Fla. – Amanda Ulrich became the Saint Leo women's basketball team's fifth all-time player to receive Sunshine State Conference All-Tournament Team honors since 1982. The SSC released the 2020 All-Tournament Team following the conference championship game on Sunday, March 8. The second-seed Eckerd Tritons upset the first-seed Tampa Spartans, who is ranked 15^th nationally, 75-69. The SSC Tournament Team honored six student-athletes that stood out during the conference postseason. Ulrich was one of the six elite honored; she was joined by three Tritons and two Spartans.
 
Ulrich, the SSC Freshman of the Year, had a tremendous showing in the Green and Gold's pair of postseason appearances facing Nova Southeastern and Tampa. The rookie point guard put up 28 points per game (56 points) while shooting a .386-percent (17-44) from the floor, an impressive .556-percent (10-18) from downtown and .857-percent (12-14) on the free throw line. She added 13 rebounds (6.5/g) five assists, two blocks and three steals on her way to pacing the Lions to a semifinal run.
 
"This was an amazing freshman season for Amanda," commented head coach Anthony Crocitto. "It is nice to see her rewarded for all her accomplishments. The best part of coaching Amanda is her attitude. I know she would trade all of her accolades for a championship."
 
Ulrich has had a record-breaking freshman campaign at Saint Leo. She set the single game scoring mark for the Lions with 40 points at Barry to end the regular season. She became just the second Lion in program history to earn Freshman of the Year honors joining former Lion Daphne Washington who brought home the honor following the 1989-90 season.

Ulrich concluded the season averaging 17.4 points per game, good for second on the SSC leaderboard. She also ranked fifth in the conference in minutes per game at 35.3, 10^th in steals (1.5) and 10^th in assists (2.9).
 
Saint Leo closed the 2019-2020 women's basketball season with an overall record of 15-15, 10-10 in the SSC. The Lions earned the team's first-ever year hosting the quarterfinals as the fourth seed and recorded the most SSC wins within a season.
