  • The No. 6 Saint Leo Lions have rested up since Feb. 8 when they downed No. 8 Flagler 4-3.
  • No. 1 Barry travels to the Saint Leo Tennis Center after defeating Florida National, No. 2 Keiser and Tampa.
  • No. 6 Saint Leo was polled fourth in the 2020 Sunshine State Coaches' Preseason Poll while No. 1 Barry was the league's top pick.
  • HISTORY: The last time the teams faced each other during regular, the Buccaneers blanked the Lions, 7-0 in Miami Shore, Fla. Barry continued to find success over Saint Leo last year, taking a 4-0 SSC Consolation Championship match and a 4-0 at the NCAA Regional I Championship meeting.
  • The Saint Leo men's and women's track programs open the outdoor portion of their 2020 schedule this Friday at the UT Track Invitational.
  • The Lions competed last season at the UT Track Invitational posting several strong performances.
  • Current junior Shane Bracken won the 1,500m at last year's event to lead the men who captured five top-five finishes.

  • Saint Leo is coming off a strong performance at the 2020 Sunshine State Conference Championships where the Lions finished fourth overall but post several NCAA "B" qualifying standards.

  • #16 Saint Leo will travel to Tampa to open up Sunshine State Conference play after posting a 10-3 record in the first three weekends of play. The Green and Gold are recently coming off a 3-1 weekend at home against UVa. Wise and Flagler. In the final game of the weekend, the Lions rallied to defeat the Saints 5-4 to gain momentum into the weekend.
  • On the year, Kacie Kelly, a 2020 Schutt Sports/NFCA DII National Player of the Year Watch List honoree, is leading the team in batting average with a .500 clip with 18 hits. She has three doubles, one triple and hit her first career home run against West Georgia earlier this year.
  • In the circle, Kayla Betts leads the staff with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.64 WHIP with a 3-1 record in 17.1 innings of work. Madi Mott leads with innings pitched (39.2) and strikeouts (41) while standing at 4-2 on the season.
  • Tampa looks to host the Lions after a 2-1 weekend against Palm Beach Atlantic where the two teams played marathon games for 34 innings of action. The first game of the SSC season went to the Spartans 2-0 in 17 innings before a 5-3 game two in just seven innings. The Sailfish stole the final game 7-6 in 10 innings.
  • Freshman Mariah Galhouse is leading the team with a .378 average in 10 games played where she is leading with 14 hits on the season.
  • In 46 innings of work, Corynn Miner is the team leader with 43 strikeouts and a 0.46 ERA.
  • HISTORYA tough series for the past five seasons has only saw two sweeps with the Green and Gold in 2016 and Tampa in 2017. Since then, the Spartans have won the last two season series 2-1 while holding a 31-13 record over the Lions, with records that are available.

  • Saint Leo has struggled in the opening nine games of the season but a conference opening victory over Embry-Riddle could turn the tide of the 2020 campaign for Saint Leo.
  • Senior Amir Wright continues to lead the Lions in batting average at .375 from his lead-off spot. Wright has the lone batting average above .300 for the Lions. Junior Sam Crail continues to lead the team in RBI with 11 while senior Jake Vander Wal sits in second with eight.
  • The Lion pitching staff is being led by sophomore Ruddy Gomez who pitched a complete game gem against the then 38th-ranked Quincy Hawks in a Lion victory. He now has a team-best 2.25 ERA and has seen a team-high 16.0 innings of action. He also leads the team in strikeouts with 20 and is nearly double his nearest teammate in that category. Redshirt junior Jeremy Peel went 7.1 strong innings against Valdosta State in the Lions' last game. He now has a 3.00 ERA, tied for second on the team, and has seen the fourth most innings on the squad.
  • Embry-Riddle has won four-straight heading into this weekend's series with Saint Leo. The four wins include a three-game sweep of Savanah State on the road and a 7-3 victory versus Flagler at home. The Lions and Eagles have faced one similar opponent this season with ERAU splitting a pair of games at Valdosta State while the Lions dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 decision to VSU at home earlier this week.
  • Two Eagles boast an above-.500 batting average including senior Mike Lawson who has an impressive .512 batting average followed by junior Andrew Martinez who is sitting at .500 through 10 games. Lawson also leads the team with 15 RBI, nearly double his next highest teammate. The Eagle have not had tremendous power this early in the season with just two team home runs. They have also only allowed three home runs.
  • Junior Garrett Goodall leads the Eagles pitching staff with a 2-1 mark. He has a 3.93 ERA and has seen a team-high 18.1 innings pitched. Senior Payton Rice leads the team with 17 Ks while three others have 10 or more.
  • HISTORY: The Lions and Eagles have met six times since 2017 with the Lions winning four of the six meetings. Last season, the Lions won 9-7 in 12 innings in the opening game in Daytona. Saint Leo then took down the Eagles 7-0 in game two before falling 12-7 in the third game.

  • Saint Leo dropped a pair of close matches last weekend at Palm Beach Atlantic including to host PBA and Webber. The Lions are now 2-2 on the year.
  • Redshirt sophomore Anna Garrett and junior Nina Vattovaz have teamed up at No. 1 for the Lions in all four matches this season. The duo is 4-0 on the year leading the Lions this season. Two other Lion duos are 2-0 including freshman Marissa Rakauskas and sophomore Arlaina Stephenson at No. 3 and freshman Madi Certain and freshman Michelle Cuervo are 2-0 at No. 4.
  • Warner is 0-1 this season with their lone regular season match coming against Saint Leo in a 5-0 loss. Bryant & Stratton has yet to play a regular season match iand 2020 marks the first season for the program.
  • HISTORY: The Lions are 1-0 this season against Warner and have yet to face Bryant & Stratton in program history.

  • No. 23 Saint Leo upset the No. 13 Limestone Saints following a tight win over Lenoir-Rhyne. The successful road trip handed the Lions a pair of Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week and a two-game win streak to meet the Red Hawks.
  • Ashlee Wilsynski, reigning SSC Offensive Player of the Week, paces the offense with 14 points (9 goals, 5 assists) followed by Kaci Archer with 10 points (7 goals, three assists). Janee DeLuca has also netted seven goals in her nine points. Ashley Salvett, the SSC Defensive Player of the Week, enters the weekend with 22 draw controls, 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers. In goal, Erin Davis and Emma Crafton have shared the goal tending responsibilities.
  • Roberts Wesleyan started the year in the win column, grabbing a 16-14 victory over No. 18 Pace University on Monday. Jamie Walker and Lindsey Brinkel each tallied six points with Walker netting six goals and Brinkel with six assists. Emily Tomei leads the team off the draw with eight. Between the pipes, Natalie Arieno has faced 36 shots while gather 17 saves.
  • HISTORY:Saturday marks the first meeting between the Lions and Red Hawks while the Green and Gold has been under the direction of head coach Caitlin Hansen. Saint Leo last played Roberts Wesleyan in 2015, where the Red Hawks slipped by the Lions, 9-8.
  • RECORDS: Saint Leo 1-1 | Young Harris 1-2
  • Saint Leo edged Alabama-Huntsville 10-8 on Saturday with four points each coming from senior Philip Buque and freshman Tyler Eames. Jordan Williams went 15-for-20 on the face while Ian Areford stopped nine in the net.
  • On the season, Eames has seven points, all coming from goals. Buque holds five points with a trio of goals and a pair of assists. Peyton Tyson has also found the back of the net three times for four points on the young year. Williams enters the weekend with a 16-28 faceoff mark. Meanwhile, Areford has collected 25 saves.
  • Young Harris topped Embry-Riddle, 13-12, on Monday to tally its first win of the year. Thomas Semple earned a hat-trick in the victory while Charlie Wilson protected the net with 11 saves.
  • On the season, Cody Bielec paces the offense with 12 points (7 goals, 5 assists) followed by Semple with eight points (7 goals, 1 assist). On the 'X', Jacob Hass has gone 8-for-37 while Max Fenno has goin 7-for-34 and Tyler Oglesby has gone 1-for-20. In goal, Bryce Parrish and Huck McCollum have each earned starts. Parrish has faced 132 shots while collecting 34 saves. McCollum has seen 42 shots while registering 15 saves.
  • HISTORY:Last meeting, Saint Leo hosted Young Harris on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at University Turf Stadium. The Lions dished out a 15-10 decision over the Mountain Lions.
  • RECORDS: Saint Leo 13-12, 9-8 SSC | Lynn 12-13, 7-10 SSC
  • Saint Leo has rolled out three-straight victories after recording a 76-69 decision at Embry-Riddle on Wednesday. Alex Button earned a season-high 27 points in Daytona Beach, Fla. supported by Amanda Ulrich with 21 points. Alani Gallagher snagged a team-high 12 rebounds in the win.
  • On the season, Ulrich paces the offense with 15 points per game (ppg) followed by Button with 14 ppg and Gallagher with 13.4 ppg. Gallagher leads the Green and Gold off the window with 8.4 rebounds per game (rpg).
  • Saint Leo is currently fourth among the SSC standings with the second highest scoring offense. Ulrich fills the fifth highest scoring spot among the league while Button is the conference's leader in three-point field goal percentage. Gallagher sits in the fourth spot in rebounding and second in blocks.
  • Lynn snapped its eight-game losing skid on Wednesday, defeating Rollins, 64-55 in Winter Park, Fla. Loie Webb lifted the Fighting Knights over the Tars, scoring 14 of her 20 points in the second half.
  • On the season, Enyosasi holds a team-high 13.8 ppg followed by Baer with 13.2 ppg. Baer also leads the Fighting Knights off the iron with 9.7 rpg.
  • Lynn enters the game as the seventh seed among the conference standings. Sarah Baer is the SSC leading rebounder. The Fighting Knights also have Sydney Fields as the fifth highest in blocked shots alongside Dani Lozzi and Uloma Enyosasi in the fourth and fifth highest in steals, respectively.
  • HISTORY: Last meeting, Saint Leo suffered a 77-74 overtime loss in Boca Raton, Fla. on Jan 11, 2020. In January, Gina Brierley earned a double-double scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Amanda Ulrich earned a team-high 18 points.
  • RECORDS: Saint Leo 14-11, 8-9 SSC | Lynn 10-13, 6-11 SSC
  • Saint Leo will host Lynn for senior night where the Lions look to right the ship after dropping the last three games including a 108-91 decision Wednesday at Embry-Riddle. In the loss, Isaiah Hill led the team with 24 points, climbing past the 1,000-point plateau.
  • On the year, Kyran McClure continues to lead the team in scoring at 21.2 points per game. McClure leads the country in free throws made at 186 where he heads down the stretch looking to lead the nation at the end of the season.
  • Lynn heads to the Bowman Center after dropping its last decision at Rollins 89-71. In the loss, Jordan Allen led the team with 17 points, beating out Christian Peevy with 15.
  • Allen is the team leader at 18.1 points per game while Peevy is second at 17.8.
  • HISTORYIn the last meeting earlier this season, the Lions defeated the Fighting Knights 95-80 on Jan. 11 where Hill dropped 24 points in the road win for the Green and Gold. Yalen Reed chipped in a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.. Jordan Allen led Lynn with a game-high 25 points.li>
