SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's swimmers
Matthew Daniel and
Yann Corbel earned Sunshine State Conference postseason honors the league office announced Friday afternoon. Daniel was tabbed to the Second Team while Corbel was given an Honorable Mention.
Daniel finished 13
th at the SSC Championship in total points scored with 43. The freshman from Alton, Ill. finished fourth in the 1650 free, fifth in the 200 fly, seventh 1000 free and 15th in the 100 fly at the SSC Championships. He was also part of the fifth place 400 medley relay team and helped the Lions finish 14th in the 200 medley relay. He was invited to swim at the NCAA Championships March 13-16 in the 200 fly and the 1000 and 1650 free.
Corbel finished just behind Daniel in points scored at the SSC Championships with 42 points at the meet. The graduate student from Dinard, France posted a fourth place finish in the 1000 free, fifth in the 1650 free and sixth in the 500 free.
The Lions will be back in action March 13-16 at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
