BLUFFTON, S.C. - Saint Leo women's golf, ranked no. 6 in the nation according to the Women's Golf Coaches Association Preseason Coaches' Poll, climbed one spot Sunday to finish the Battle at Old South in fourth place at 605 (+29). The Lions fired off a 303 (+15) to conclude the opening tournament.
Synne Lauritzen paced the Green and Gold on the weekend where she finished tied for sixth overall with a 146 (+2) after a final round even-par, 72.
Isabel Nesteus jumped 23 spots over the final 18 holes with a one-under 71 Sunday to conclude play with a four-over, 148.
Izzy Lawrence tied for 22nd at eight-over 152, ahead of
Louise Henningsson (T42, 156),
Jasmin Pnaiser (48th, 159), and
Rose Morissette (T65, 165).
Flagler College's Pauline Taiton went wire-to-wire to win medalist honors by a stroke at three-under 141 for the tournament. Lee flipped places with Florida Southern to win the team title at 596 (+20).
Saint Leo returns to the course on Oct. 1-2 when the Green and Gold travels to Cleveland, Tenn. to participate in the Lee Lady Flames Super Regional Preview at the Cleveland Country Club.
