Men's Cross Country Takes 7th at UF Mountain Dew Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Saint Leo men's cross country took on a 22 team field plus unattached runners at the University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational Saturday morning where the Lions took seventh place with 221 points. Shawn Bell led the pride with a time of 26:16.6, good enough for 41st place. 

Clocking in behind Bell out of the 182 total runners were Tyler Pantley (45th, 26:20.6), Ethan Markey (51st, 26:26.9), Clement Goujon (56th, 26:38.6), Joshua Sickinger (69th, 26:53.4), Noah Quintana (83rd, 27:23.3), Tadgh McGinty (102nd, 27:52.3), Hunter Chavis (140th, 29:14.8), and Brandon Cruz (172nd, 33:20.9). 

Florida A&M won the overall race with 26 points where the Rattlers' David Too took medalist in a time of 24:11.6. In division II standings, Embry-Riddle took the top spot with 102 points, fourth overall, where the Eagles' Ryan Szklany placed ninth overall with a time of 24:51.6. 

Saint Leo returns to the course on Sept. 29 when the Green and Gold travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to participate in the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University.
