DAVIE, Fla. – After rain suspended play during Monday's round two, the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golf Championship resumed Tuesday, April 24 where the field completed rounds two and three to conclude play at the Grande Oaks Golf Club. The 15th-ranked Saint Leo Lions took home seventh after carding a team score of 867 (+15).

The Lions' 286 (+6) third round was the fourth lowest team score recorded at the SSC Championships by a Green and Gold squad. The 286 falls behind the 2017 third round 282, 2014 first round 284, and 2014 second round 285.

Simon Knutsson charged back to pace the Green and Gold, carding a 74 (+3) and 71 (E) Tuesday for rounds two and three, respectively. Knutsson finished at 216 (+3) tied for 20th just ahead of teammate
Riley Goss in 25th at 217 (+4).

Goss shot one-over Tuesday for 36-holes after an even-par 71 for round two and a one-over 72 for round three.

Oliver Lilliedahl fired off the best round of the day with a third round 68 (-3), adding that to his second round 75 (+4) to wrap up the conference tournament in 28th at 218 (+5).

Alberto Castagnara shot a 74 (+3) for round two and a 75 (+4) for round three, to complete his tournament at 220 (+7), good enough for 33rd.

Nilo Sanchez rounded out the Lions golfers in 34th at 221 (+8) after rounds of 72 (+1) and 75 (+4), respectively Tuesday.

No. 5 Florida Tech continued to control the pace after carding an unbelievable 16-under 268 for the third and final round, finishing at 19-under 833 for the championships to win the SSC title. No. 6 Juan Jose Guerra took home the medalist honors at 11-under 202 for the three-round tournament after carding rounds of 68-68-66.Â
