SAINT LEO, Fla. – In back-and-forth action at Thomas B. Southard Stadium, No. 22 Saint Leo baseball prevailed over Eckerd in non-conference action, 7-4, to pick up win No. 20 on the season.

Chase Turner, Zach Scott and Lane Stancil had their way with the Tritons pitching, while Turner and Scott each hit at least one home run on the night. Stancil went 3-for-4 from the plate with two RBI.

Scott went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and one RBI after hitting one double and one home run.

Jake Sims and Matt McGee were credited with one hit, which rounded out the Green and Gold's nine hits.

Saint Leo got things started with a two-run blast from Turner in the bottom of the first, scoring Aaron Portee on the hit. With two outs, Turner took the pitch deep to left field to make it 2-0 Saint Leo.

The Tritons answered with two in the top of the second to keep things close. A double down the left field line scored two runs from first and second for Eckerd, tying things up at 2-2.

In the top of the fourth, Eckerd used back-to-back jacks to take a 4-2 lead before the Lions posted two in the bottom half to tie it back up at 4-4. Lane Stancil's single to center field scored Turner and Scott to make things even.

Saint Leo added two more in the bottom of the fifth as Turner hit his second dinger of the night with one out, breaking the tie, 5-4 Saint Leo. Jake Sims hit a hard grounder through the right side to score Scott from second, where he reached on a double to right center making it 6-4.

The Lions scored an insurance run in the seventh inning as Scott hit a lead-off home run to straight away center field; Saint Leo 7-4.
