SAINT LEO, Fla. – In two seven-inning contest, No. 24 Saint Leo baseball walked off in the eighth inning in game two to close Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of the Wisconsin Parkside Rangers, 6-1 and 3-2 at Thomas B. Southard Stadium.

On the day,
Jared Morello paced the Lions from the plate with four hits where
Derek Gibree tallied three. Ten of the eleven batters notched a hit where Morello,
Chase Turner,
Brett Coffel,
Amir Wright and
Zach Scott tallied one double on the day. Lane Stacil recorded two hits on the night in game one, both doubles.

Wright led the team in RBI with three, just ahead of Coffel with two and Gibree, Stancil, Turner, and Scott at one.

Jeremy Peel, who got the start in game two, pitched the most innings of the seven pitchers who saw action in a bullpen workday.
Joey Antonopoulos and
Tyler Bauman tied for the most strikeouts, three, where Bauman used one inning to fan the side.

Game One - #24 Saint Leo 6, Wisconsin Parkside 1
Saint Leo took game one of the series 6-1 behind six scoreless innings of
Joey Antonopoulos and
Oscar Gordillo.
Peyton Isaacson came in and tossed the final inning allowing his first run of the season on two hits.

Lane Stancil led the charge offensively going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Brett Coffel and
Amir Wright both tallied two RBI in the game.

Saint Leo scored one run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead for the first four innings. The Lions added two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to hold a 6-0 lead heading to the top of the seventh inning.

In the fifth, Stancil started things off with a double before coming in to score on a two-run double down the left field line from
Brett Coffel, bringing in
Zach Scott as well.

In the sixth inning,
Amir Wright doubled to score
Derek Gibree and
Tate Sweatt before Stancil hit a double down the right field line to score Wright to close out the Lions' scoring on the night.

Game Two - #24 Saint Leo 3, Wisconsin Parkside 3
Saint Leo came away with a walk-off single from
Amir Wright to score
Derek Gibree for a 3-2 win over the Rangers.

Blake Bodin, who picked up the win, came in for relief and recorded an out without tossing one pitch to home plate. Bodin came in with two outs and one on in the top of the sixth and picked off the runner at first to end the inning.

Jeremy Peel got the nod in game two going 4.0 innings with three hits and one unearned run, before
Tyler Bauman came in for one inning. Bauman struckout the side before
Drew Tumbelty came in for two-thirds of an inning allowing two hits and one run. Bodin finished with 2.1 innings and the win with one strikeout and just one hit.

Jared Morello went 3-for-4 to lead the way where
Jake Sims and
Derek Gibree each notched two hits on the night.
Aaron Portee joined Gibree and Morello as the three to score a run.

The Lions scored in the first once again before the Rangers tied it in the third. Saint Leo added another in the fourth before UW-Parkside tied it again in the sixth. The Lions prevailed in extra innings after Gibree got things started with a single through the left side. He would advance to second on a wild pitch before Wright's single to right field allowed Gibree to round third and score.

Saint Leo and Wisconsin Parkside will return to Thomas B. Southard Stadium at 1 p.m. for the series finale. The Lions and Rangers will play one single nine-inning game to close out the series.
