SAINT LEO, Fla. – No. 17 Saint Leo baseball won its 17th game of the season with a 11-6 final over Bridgeport in Sunday's matinee game at Thomas B. Southard Stadium.

Saint Leo (17-2) saw six players hit an extra base hit including three doubles and three home runs.
Amir Wright,
Peyton Isaacson and
Chase Turner were credited with doubles where
Zach Scott,
Jared Morello and
Jake Sims all hit home runs.

Tyler Bauman picked up his third win of the season and moves to 3-0 after going 6.0 innings allowing four runs, two earned, on eight hits. Bauman recorded a game-high seven strikeouts on the bump with no walks allowed.

Amir Wright led the team in hits on the day from the leadoff spot, going 3-for-6 with one run scored.

Jared Morello all tallied two hits on the day, where Isaacson went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one walk. Â

Redshirt freshman
Danny Torres picked up his first collegiate career hit in the third inning with a single down the left field line.

Bridgeport got things started with a run in the first inning where the Green and Gold answered with three in the bottom half.
Amir Wright doubled to left field before coming in on a
Peyton Isaacson single up through the right side to tie things at 1-1.
Chase Turner doubled to left field putting runners on second and third before Isaacson scored on a fielding error by the shortstop. With bases loaded,
Jake Sims would draw the walk and score Turner for the third run of the inning.

The Purple Knights Grabowski would lead off the third inning and hit a solo shot to left field to cut the Lions' lead to 3-2. Â Bridgeport would add another run in the third followed by Saint Leo scoring two in the bottom half to keep a 5-2 lead off a two-run home run by
Jared Morello.

Morello would come up with an RBI-single to score
Peyton Isaacson to make it 6-2 Lions after four complete innings of play.

Bridgeport would score two runs in the top half of the fifth to cut it to 6-4 Saint Leo before the Lions posted a five-run bottom half of the fifth taking a 11-4 lead. Isaacson would double to right field scoring
Aaron Portee from second before coming in to score with
Chase Turner on a
Zach Scott three-run blast that hit the top of the scoreboard in left center making it 10-4. With two outs,
Jake Sims would launch a solo shot to right field for what would be the 11th and final run of the game for the Green and Gold.

The Purple Knights would score a run in each of the final two innings to make the final an 11-6 game after
Blake Bodin got the final out via the strikeout.

No. 17 Saint Leo and Bridgeport head back to Thomas B. Southard Stadium Monday, March 12 at 6 p.m. for game three of the four-game series.
