TAMPA, Fla. – Saint Leo men's cross country took first place in the non-Division I standings at the South Florida Invitational Friday night hosted by the University of South Florida where

Shane Bracken finished in the top-five.

Saint Leo finished first with 32 points, one point ahead of Embry-Riddle (31). Florida Tech took third with 107 points with Tampa in fourth at 125. Â

When asked about the race and the first place win at the South Florida Invitational to close out the regular season, Head Coach
Kent Reiber stated "Lions Gotta Eat."

Goujon finished third in a time of 27:44.89 where Bracken was just off his heels in fourth at 27:49.68.

Shawn Bell,
Joshua Sickinger, and
Tyler Pantley all finished inside the top-10 for the Green and Gold. Bell took sixth in a time of 28:19.90, ahead of Sickinger's eighth place, 28:35.73, and Pantley's ninth place finish, 28:35.97.

Noah Quintana and
Ethan Markey each took a top-20 finish where Quintana was 16th, 29:11.12, and Markey 18th, 29:16.96. The Lions saw three other runners take the course in
Tadgh McGinty (36th, 30:33.75),
Hunter Chavis (54th, 32:14.50), and
Mason Lamb (71st, 36:26.68).

The race concluded the regular season for the Green and Gold where the Lions look to the Sunshine State Conference on Nov. 3 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
