Volleyball Notes
  • Saint Leo is in search of its first season sweep of Florida Southern since the 2009 campaign. A win on Tuesday night would accomplish that feat and would also snap FSC's 25-match home win streak.
  • Sophomore Ashley Quero and junior Nina Vattovaz continue to be the offensive threats for the Saint Leo volleyball team during conference play this season. Quero is averaging 2.97 kills per set over the eight matches while Vattovaz heads into Tuesday's match averaging 2.87 kills per set.
  • Florida Southern picked up a pair of home victories this past weekend including defeating No. 9 Palm Beach Atlantic 3-1 and downing Nova Southeastern 3-0. Senior Nicole Mattson continues to lead the Sunshine State Conference in kills by nearly one per set at 4.78. Sophomore Rachael Martin is the Mocs second offensive option at 2.98 kills per set.
  • In the 3-2 Saint Leo victory over Florida Southern earlier this season four Lions reached double-figures in kills led by Quero's 15. Junior Annabella Arcari (14), Vattovaz (13) and junior Victoria Omoregie (12) all joined Quero in double-figures. Florida Southern was led by Mattson who had 24 kills in the loss while Martin chipped in 14 as the lone two Mocs in double-figures.
