Cross Country Notes
- Saint Leo men's and women's cross country will be at the Embry-Riddle ASICS Classic this Saturday, on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. ERAU bills the course as "one of the most challenging in the state of Florida" with a mix of terrain and a 150-meter grass hill.
- The women's cross country team will be putting its No. 17 national ranking, the highest in program history, on the line this weekend at the ASICS Classic. The veteran team, led by senior All-American Colett Rampf, has been in the USTFCCCA Division II rankings in both polls this season – the first time in program history that the Lions have been ranked in consecutive weeks. The Lions went 1-2-3 at the season opening Holloway Park Preseason Festival in Lakeland, Fla., and were first out of five Division II teams.
- Saint Leo men's cross country will be looking to rebound from a frustrating performance at the season-opening Holloway Park Preseason Festival, where the Lions finished third out of five Division II teams. Sophomore Ron Cheserek paced Saint Leo with a fifth-place finish, behind three runners from Embry-Riddle and eventual champion Bobby Ormsby from Florida Southern.

Women's Soccer Notes
- Saint Leo opens up their home portion of their schedule with Sunshine State Conference newcomer Embry-Riddle for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
- The Lions enter at 1-1 after dropping their last contest to West Alabama on Sept. 3 1-0 in Memphis, Tenn.
- In their first game of the season, Saint Leo defeated Christian Brothers 2-0 with goals from Sofie Haellsten and Rebecca Anderson.
- On the year, keeper Julia Ortiz has played the full 180:00 minutes with one goal allowed for a .500 goals-against-average (GAA) where she's racked up four saves for a .800 saves percentage. Ortiz holds a 1-1 record in goal.
- Anderson and Haellsten's lone two goals put them atop the team leaderboard for goals and points with one goal and two points apiece. Natalie Melillo has one point on one assist in 79 minutes of action.
- Embry-Riddle comes into the contest with a 2-1 record and looks to make a mark in their SSC debut. In their last outing, the Eagles defeated Lee 1-0 in double-overtime to push their record over .500.
- With a 5-0 win over Spring Hill to open the season, Embry-Riddle dropped their second contest 1-0 to Flagler on Sept. 3.
- On the year, Embry-Riddle is led by Maria Schmiedhofer with two goals in three games played for four points where Elzabeth Allen, Mikayla Szalay, Guro naess Berge and Elvira Ramel each have one goal to their name. Megan Smith leads the assist column with two for the season where Allen, Annie Gelnaw and Rachel Owens own the other three assists.
- Between the posts, keeper Fanny Kristiansson has started and played all three games totaling 207:34 minutes of action with one goal allowed for a .43 GAA with five saves with a 1-1 record. Dsana Ruchti is 1-0 on the year with 75:54 minutes played and no goals allowed. Ruchti has four saves for a 1.000 save percentage.

Men's Soccer Notes
- Saint Leo heads to Daytona Beach to open their 2017 Sunshine State Conference slate with a matchup with Embry-Riddle at 7 p.m. Saturday.
- The Lions are 0-3 after losses to no. 1 Wingate (4-2), Lees-McRae (3-1) and most recently to Florida National at home (6-0).
- Yuga Yanagisawa, Bryce Wilson and Tyler Palmer own the Lions three goals on the year where Yanagisawa and Palmer scored against Wingate and Wilson against Lees-McRae. All three players hold two points on the young season. Till Lammertz has one assist on the year for one point.
- Newcomer Wessel Berenschot got the nod against the defending national champions in the season opener and played the full 90 minutes with four goals allowed and two saves. Berenschot holds an 0-1 record where fifth-year keeper Conor McElhinney is 0-2 with 180 minutes played between the posts. McElhinney has allowed nine goals and has 13 saves in two games played.
- Embry-Riddle enters the contest with a 1-1 record with a season opening lost to Francis Marion (3-0) and the a win on Sept. 4 against Coker, 1-0.
- Keeper Richard Dearle has played the full 180 minutes with three goals allowed and four saves for a 1-1 record and one shutout on 14 shots faced.
- On the attack, Alex O'Brien has the lone goal for the Eagles for two points on the season where Tim-Frederik Lange had the assist on his goal for one point this season.

Women's Golf Notes
- Saint Leo women's golf competes in its first tournament of 2016-17 with this weekend's Lady Falcon Invitational, hosted by defending junior college national champion Daytona State College. The event will be hosted at the LPGA International on the Hills Course, designed by Arthur Hills. The Hills Course, considered to be the more difficult of the two courses at LPGA International, is marked by narrow pine corridors, small greens, and strategically placed water hazards.
- Starting Five: Amanda Jakobsson, Synne Lauritzen, Vilde Eriksen, Izzy Lawrence, Isabel Nesteus
- Individuals: Alex Velez, Margine Arguello, Jasmin Pnaiser
- The Field: Included in the field for the Lady Falcon Invitational in addition to Saint Leo will be Florida Southern, Palm Beach Atlantic, Tampa, Embry-Riddle, Florida Atlantic, Thomas University (Ga.), and the host squad from Daytona State College.

Men's Golf Notes
- Saint Leo opens their 2017-18 season with the Griffin Invitational in which they host at the Streamsong Resort in Bowling Green, Fla.
- The Griffin Invitational is named after the late Griffin Clark, who passed away July 4, 2016, weeks after he helped the Lions clinch their first ever National Championship in Denver, Colorado.
- The Lions welcome in six top-10 teams in the GolfStat Relative Rankings while nine teams are ranked in the top 25 of the rankings. In the preseason Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches' Poll, 12 of the 15 teams were ranked or received votes, topped by 2017 defending national champion and SSC foe Florida Southern. The Moccasins knocked off Lynn in the championship match 3-2 to win their 13th overall national title.
- Saint Leo starts the season out at the 24th ranked team in the GolfStat reltative ranking and looks to make an appearance back in the NCAA tournament. Last season the Lions sent senior Ryan Gendron to the NCAA Championships as an individual where he finished tied for 20th after carding a 216 (+6) for three rounds. Gendron finished with a 68 on the final round where he opened up his final appearance with a 73 and 75 on consecutive rounds.
