SAINT LEO, Fla. – The fifth-ranked Saint Leo University men's tennis team took on #24 Lynn University in a match for third place at the 2026 Sunshine State Conference championship. The Lions defeated the Fighting Knights, 4-0 to claim a third-place finish. Eduardo Cohen clinched the match victory for the Lions to improve to 15-5 overall as a team. Head Coach Ivan Fernandez notched his 150th career win on Saturday.

Lynn took an early lead in the double play with a win at number three doubles. The Lions bounced back with a pair of 7-5 wins but the top two doubles team clinched the early 1-0 lead.

For a second straight match, Jose Segovia Perez opened singles play with a straight set win, this time conceding just a single game, 6-1, 6-0. Kodai Kato gave the Lions a 3-0 lead with 6-1 and 6-4 wins at number four singles. Eduardo Cohen closed out the match for the Green & Gold with set wins of 6-4 and 6-3 .
