Hill's Career Day Powers #11 Women's Lacrosse to 22-13 Win at #14 Rollins

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Holly Hill and Jana Nuss made program history on Saturday afternoon in Winter Park setting single game, career program and SSC records. The #11 Saint Leo University women's lacrosse team earned its first SSC victory with a 22-13 victory over #14 Rollins. The Lions improve to 9-3 overall and 1-1 in SSC place, while Rollins falls to 9-3 overall and 0-2 in SSC play.

Holly Hill led the game with 13 points to tie the SSC single game record and set a new program record. Hill's nine assists set a new program single game record. Hill and Jones each recorded a game-high four goals. Sophia Wood, Anna Wood, and Jana Nuss found the back of the net three times each. In total the Lions recorded 11 assists, Hill accounted for nine while Jana Nuss and Emma Buthorn each had an assist. In the midfield, freshman Isabella Gebinine led with seven draw controls. Jessica Harclerode made five saves in goal.

Jana Nuss's first point of the game made program history as she became the program leader in career points with 212 and finished the night with 215 career points. Nuss becomes just second Lion to amass 200 career points passing current graduate assistant, Fiona McLaughlin's 211.

#11 Saint Leo 22, #14 ROLLINS 13
Saint Leo took control early and never let go, using a fast start and a dominant third quarter to pull away for a 22-13 win over Rollins in SSC play.

The Lions set the tone right away, Natalie Jones scored the first three goals for the home team as it jumped out to a five-goal first quarter. Even as the Tars tried to chip away, Saint Leo had an answer every time, carrying a 9-5 lead into halftime behind sharp ball movement and efficient scoring.

Any thought of a second-half comeback was quickly erased in the third. Saint Leo erupted for eight goals in the period, turning a steady lead into a runaway. Draw control wins fueled the surge, giving the Lions possession after possession, and they made Rollins pay with a flurry of finishes from all over the field.

At the center of it all was Holly Hill, who orchestrated the offense in a historic performance. Hill piled up nine assists and 13 points, setting single-game program records and seemingly involved in every scoring run. Around her, Natalie Jones led the goal scoring with four, while Sophia Wood added three and continued to pressure the defense throughout.

Saint Leo continued to press in the fourth, maintaining control and closing out the ranked SSC road win with authority, turning what started as a competitive matchup into a statement performance.
